Blessed with one of the best climates in Canada, diverse beaches, nature parks, stunning ocean views and incredible sunsets, Gabriola is home to 4,200 residents which almost doubles in summer.
Our regular commuter ferry service means easy access to and from Nanaimo. But even with the city so close, Gabriola has maintained its laid-back, Gulf Island lifestyle set in a blend of forested and rural landscapes.
We hope you will come to unwind, do some beach combing, play on the water, visit the many local galleries and shops, hike, bike, take in some of the Gabriola culture and make some perfect memories with friends and family.
Enjoy! You’re on island time now.

GABRIOLA GROWS -- SHOP LOCAL! Promoting our island’s food producers.
This year, Village Food Market is partnering with the Gabriola Chamber to raise money to support our marketing program and projects spotlighting Gabriola’s local food producers, helping them improve their farm-gate sales, and increasing our marketing efforts to islanders and visitors to shop local.
And you could help without it costing you a penny! The next time you're buying groceries at Village Foods, ask the friendly cashier to load up your GABRIOLA GROWS -- SHOP LOCAL! VFM COMMUNITY CARD.
It doesn’t cost you anything extra because for every $100 you spend on your Gabriola Grows Community Card, Village Foods contributes $5 (i.e. 5%) to our local food marketing efforts. And when you have one of these cards, you can just zip through that checkout like it was nothing! Please support our work and reload your card often.
