The Gabriola Island Chamber of Commerce

Gabriola Island Chamber of Commerce has two contract positions available . . .

Part-time Contract: Chamber Manager (1 year)

This manager assignment is responsible for providing guidance and support to the volunteer Board of Directors and its committees with their responsibilities and strategic objectives. He/she is provides management of approved programs and projects and development and leadership of the Marketing/Administrative Assistant and volunteer team of Tourism Counsellors to provide first class member and visitor service.

The Manager reports, on a contractual basis, to the President and Board of Directors through the Personnel Committee. He/She is an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors. This is a part-time role based on an average of 80 hours per month. This contract assignment is under review.

Part-time Contract: Marketing Administrative Assistant (1 year)

The Marketing Administrative Assistant (Assistant) is responsible for the administrative tasks required in the day-to-day operation of the Chamber of Commerce office and Visitors’ Center.  He/she will be key in the implementation of marketing and communication initiatives, focused on the achievement of the Chamber’s strategic objectives.

The Assistant reports to Manager on a contractual basis as approved by the Board of Directors and is a part-time role based on an average of 32 hours per month.  This contract assignment is under review.

The Gabriola Chamber is affiliated with the B.C. Chamber of Commerce and the Federal Chambers of Commerce. The Chamber represents approximately 115 businesses, not for profit organizations and individuals situated on, or interested in Gabriola Island. Through direct community involvement, communication, lobbying, and connections with other Chambers and organizations, the Gabriola Island Chamber of Commerce represents and promotes the interests of its members. Its mandate is to ensure a balanced, progressive and responsible development of business on Gabriola.

You'll find information here on all our member businesses and not for profit organizations, artisan members, events, things to do, restaurants and pubs, our parks, our trails, markets, beaches, and other places of special interest on Gabriola.

Don't know where to stay? We've information on inns, B&Bs, campsites, guest houses, cabins and cottages. There is also loads of  information on sailing, fishing, kayaking, hiking and scuba diving. Visit an artist studio, go to a play or concert, or you can even take horseback riding lessons.

These cards can be used on all routes, with savings on selected routes. Make your trip to Gabriola affordable by using your Experience Card. How much can you save? Adults save $4; Children $2; Vehicles $8.15; Motorcycles $4.05; Bicycles $2. A family of four can save up to $20 on their fare to Gabriola. And remember, you only pay one way.
