Welcome to Gabriola Island

The Gabriola Island Chamber of Commerce - and everyone on this beautiful island - welcomes you to the Island of the Arts. We're sure you'll agree with the thousands of other people who visit Gabriola each year that this is a wonderful place to relax, explore and enjoy.

The Gabriola Georgia Strait Cam website is another great stop for information on Gabriola. Many thanks to this Gabriola Chamber member for providing this wonderful view of Entrance Island. The Gabriola Georgia Strait Cam is located above Locke Bay on the north side of Gabriola Island. The camera overlooks Entrance Island, the Sunshine Coast, the North Shore Mountains and Vancouver. Enjoy the wildlife and marine traffic of the Georgia Strait part of The Salish Sea. The view of the sunrises are truly spectacular, and you can watch the Coastal Mountains change colour and the light reflect off the windows of Vancouver.

From garden tours, to film festivals, to all sorts of music and artistic displays and events, you'll find plenty of scheduled activities on Gabriola. You might find that the only problem will be deciding which events to enjoy while you're here. For information about specific events, click here.

Getting around

Apart from our local (and very busy) taxi service, there is no public transportation on Gabriola. There is however, Page's Resort & Marina, where you can rent a scooter or a bicycle. Bicycles can also be rented at Sea Meadows by calling 250 247 9780 (located not far from the ferry).

Most of Gabriola's roads are curved and hilly. Watch out for deer, cyclists, pedestrians and slow drivers. Remember to take your time and enjoy the Gabriola experience while you're getting around the island. For more information, check out the Chamber's GoGabriola brochure.
