Trails criss-cross Gabriola and you'll see them everywhere.Sometimes it's tough to tell if the trail is on private property or not. Pick up a GaLTT (Gabriola Land and Trails Trust) Trail Map at the Information Centre or check the GaLTT website for info.
Beach access markers are found around the island. They are concrete blocks found at the start of the trail. These trails will take you to the shoreline.
Some favourites are the Yogi and River Place Trails, Petroglyph Trail, all the trails in the 707 acre Community Park, Rollo McClay Park to Wild Cherry Terrace, Coast Road Beach Access, the trails to Sandwell Provincial Park, and the Twin Beaches Headland Loop. There is also some great walking is Drumbeg Park!
If you're on Gabriola on a Saturday anytime from the May long weekend to Thanksgiving weekend, you won't want to miss the Farmers' Market. Starting at 10 am and ending at 1 pm, the market is a fun event for locals and visitors alike.
Folks can wander the market, picking up fresh baked goods and locally grown fruits and vegetables. There are also lots of opportunities to purchase lovely arts and crafts and listen to buskers. Coffee and breakfast is available on site as well. You'll find the market just a short walk (or a very short drive) from the ferry landing, at the corner of North Road and South Road, at AGI Agricultural Hall.

Sandy beaches, rocky beaches, marine wildlife, amazing views, and more: about the only things you won't find on Gabriola's beaches, are crowds! Visit Drumbeg, Gabriola Sands, Sandwell or any of wonderfully secluded beaches found all around the island.

In addition to the many local galleries and studios, you''ll want to browse through Folklife Village, Madrona Marketplace, the Twin Beaches Mall, and Silva Bay Resort and Marina. Or stop off at an alpaca farm or private art studio. Shop at Colleen's, North Road Sports, Slice of Life Gallery & Gift Shop at Madrona Marketplace, Page's Marina Bookstore, but to name few.
