Part II of Donsflicks Double Feature – Paradise: No Limits. (Sombrio Beach is showing at 2pm.)

ONE OF THE BEST-EVER FILMS ABOUT THE HIPPIE EXPERIENCE.

In 1969, Howard Taylor, brother of actress Elizabeth Taylor, bails out a rag-tag band of young Mainlanders jailed for vagrancy and invites them to live on his oceanfront land. Soon, waves of hippies, surfers, and troubled Vietnam Vets find their way to this clothing-optional, pot-friendly, treehouse village at the end of the road on Kaua’i’s North Shore.

Through interviews 30 years later, we relive the good and the bad with stories of order within anarchy, “sex, drugs and rock n’ roll, as well as deeply spiritual awakenings, while neighbors talk about this invasion’s impact on local culture. Condemned for a park, officials torched the village in 1977 before the last residents left. Now, all that remains are memories of “the best days of our lives”.

WARNING: NUDITY.

Genre: Documentary.

Doors open at 3:15pm.
